Congratulations, but to hear what you and your athlete went through is really sad.
Just a question - there is no chance to migrate and start for another country (like FRA)?
Although there is a certain risk about that - we had an athlete from “the East” move to Austria and suddenly a 20.40 200m sprinter became a 21.50 sprinter
Has anyone discussed/picked up Asafa’s cool lane 6 to lane 5 switch 15m to go in the semifinals?
It may be not so obvious on TV but my mate who was standing behind the athletes said that it was so obvious watching from there!
There were some comments about it on the Ch9 but no one has complained about it so AP did not get DSQ.
I am not sure has this been disscused on CF.com or not…
I’m really glad for him he got through with it - another misfortune after WC and Oly must have killed his confidence at last…
But I still wonder why he wasn’t DSQied. It was so obvious.
I never knew you could run 20m in another guys lane without disqualification.
It is his stupid looking left and right - it happens very easily that you move to the direction you twist your head.
PJ - your athlete was even closer to gold, if any official of his country to watch the semi - but I gues there wa nobody
No one complained within 30min. and he got away with it!
LOL, I prefer it when Thor uploads his videos with no sound. The commentators are just AWFUL.
Thanks for the videos.
This man is unreal. To run 10.30 like that. Jogging the last 40m. while the other guys are going 100%, it looked, uh, silly.
Were you ever a serious athlete? How could you not know that there is no lane violation in the 100m? Remember, if you go out of your lane you are actually running a longer distance, so the violation only occurs when you hit or nudge someone and they protest. This was not the case since Asafa was way ahead, if their was a protest it would have been thrown out faster than you could say “DQ”
Serious like a judge.
At least I was in enough meetings to learn that “officials” usually use every possibility of protest the rules allow to improve their athletes position. That’s why I was surprised.
Sorry to hurt you hysterical juvenile feelings expressing my surprise.

Sorry if I assumed you were ignorant of the rules, but that part of your post that I quoted above sure made it seem like you were.

With comments like that, any sensible person can see who is the"juvenile" one in this discussion
My apologies for hitting a nerve when I tried to enlighten you on the 100m Line DQ rule, its just a forum, take it easy.
If you live in the U.S and have Fxpac,You can see the competition there.
Just saw this clip. Pretty impressive. If anyone gets a chance look at Ben Johnson’s 10.3 in the 88 olympics. He literally tries to slow himself down
Asafa shakes his head at the end as if to say, “Damn this sucks, all this training and I don’t even feel I need to use the speed I worked so hard to get.” It will be a different story at world champs, he will have to work for that one, this was just pure entertainment for us and him.
I would also like to see that 30m time. He was blazing fast that first 30m and Im willing to bet that was a 9.8x if he didn’t stop running.
Can anybody expand on his arm movement out of the blocks? It is not like ANY of the top sprinters I’ve seen male or female.
