Aromatherapy and fitotherapy as recovery means?

I am interested on this subject cause my mother is aromatherapeut and love to “things” with herbs… so I am interested can this be used as a recovery means, supplements etc?
Any of you had any experiences with it?
Currently she sent me a cream for muscles (anti pain, sorenes, reumathic pains, etc) and some cream for headaches and my “bad” vision…

duxx I am not sure if aromatherapy works but I have read stuff on pine needle baths, epson salt baths, ect… the pine needle scent is supposed to help aid recovery…not sure if it works, I would think that aroma therpay might help relax after intense training session and perhaps help relax your mind as well so that you do not get overtrainined mentally? Just some thoughts,
Peace

Tnx asd…
Aromatherapy is using essential oils for massage, cremes, lotions, baths etc… and they can replace some other pharmateutic aids (in sport and in general health - medicine) also can be said about fitotherapy (herbs, plants etc)… you can use them to enhance recovery or as a addition to common recovery methods…
