Army style training for sports

Is this army style training necessary for sports? How does it help and is there a high potential for injury in an arbitrary general fitness training such as this? Jumping from an eight foot wall or rope climbing etc.

I just looked at those pics from the link above and all I can say is “OH BROTHER another coach gone crazy”

No. I cant see how it could help and you could def. get injured this way or if it’s any better than a program like CTFS or like some thing like the GPP dvd. Maybe rope climbing might do some good. But the hell does jumping off an 8ft wall have anything to do with cricket?

As a matter of fact I live next to west point military academy and the coaches do not train athletes this way.
