i second that! relaxed and times will come!
hope today’s session wasn’t that bad!

By self-timing do you mean you hold a stopwatch in your hand, press it when you start and then press it when you finish? Do you find this timing to be a reliable prediction of true times or do you just use it to gauge progress? Thanks and good luck.

thats the way i do it. Only to gauge progress, but I have a conversion system. For instance, a standing 100 timed off the first step add .4-.5 and thats what you should run electric.
True times are just that ture times in a race with a wind gauge. But as far as monitoring my progress, its fairly reliable i think only because i have been doing it for over 15 years.
I also be sure to have more than one workout that supports this. and there are different distances. I also know the tracks and the wind very well because I have spent years at each and probably over a 100 wind measurements with the gauge at all the tracks in Hawaii.
And I also get an electronic time at some point to get a good performace gauge based on workouts leading up to the meet.

There is a meet this Sat. with a wind gague so we will soon know how I am doing.

comments?

i think 5x60s 2days before a meet is a lot of work and will drain our system. i would drop those to 30s and make sure im not exceeding 90-95% of intensity. goodluck

3/10
bad weather and I felt lazy. Ran some 60’s no time. I felt quick but it was very windy.
Nothing felt right.
Guess I’ll find out on Sat.

Good luck!
it should be interesting to see if those 60s have worked!

Let us know!

The weather was bad at the track, so I choose not to compete at that meet.

The weather was better on the other side of the island, so I ran with no gun out of the blocks.
I easied up at the end, because my right quad and ham was feeling tight.

I ran 11.04, on one watch and 11.06 on another, no competition, by myself. They started the watch on my first movement.

I think I am running about 11.1 electric in a race.
Will try to get an electronic time next week. There is no race, but i am hoping to ask the officials at the high school race to run a time trial.

I did power cleans got up to 225lb, yestereday, med ball and situps
Did a little jogging, but I can feel the quad begin to tighten up.
will cont. massage treatment until mond or tuesd.

THis really sucks. I was getting close to getting my flying 30’s at 2.9 or maybe 2.8 and i felt like to other speed training would improve, now very unsure about being able to compete at 100% on April 30th. Imean 100% prepared, i figure i’ll be 100% heathly by then.

Trained yesterday some warm up and 10x10m

today 3/24- power clean 205 4x3

some running over the weekend, but waiting until monday to attempt speed again
