Appendix removed

What would you suggest for a 100/200 athlete who has just had their appendix out and has Nationals in 8 weeks?

Re-focus on another event, forget Nats.
Even if one could compete, does 1 want to turn up so under-prepared and compete (for them) poorly?

Tis what i would think - unless they are heads n shoulders above all else and just making t final be t new goal?

2nd in 100m & 3rd in 200m last year, 5th & 2nd the year before.

So what would / could you do to try and stay in some sort of shape?

Hard to say, even hard weights put a lot of pressure on the Core area.
Maybe tempo with Med Ball circuits during recoverys?
Maybe, maybe concentric only plyro work?

I would 1st get a Dr cert to cover oneself if training them or even giving out guidance.
Then play it by ear to see what they can handle and when they are ready to move to harder workloads
