Week-15 Monday… 6 days to go baby.
7 miles easy today. My ankle got a bit sore, and I’m thinking a full week off after the season would be best to recover from all the nicks and scrapes i’ve accumulated over this tough season.

Week-15 Tuesday
I love thanksgiving break, i only had to go to school for a short period of time today, and I’ve got the rest of the week off. I’ve been devoting a larger portion than I should be to World of Warcraft, but Hah! I don’t care. States in a couple days and I’m gonnab e ready to rock and roll.
Oh yeah, we did 2x1000 2x800 4x200… I’m gawdawful scared because during this workout the cramp I had at MBL league meet came back, full force. I had to walk from the track to the XC room. Eek.

Week-15 Wedsnday
We all met today at Nicene for an easy 40 minute run, which makes no sense to me at all, but I ran anyway. The gut cramp I’ve got seems to have eased up a bit, but it’s not completely gone. It nipped at me a bit come the last half of the quick run.

Today was awesome. We had a lot of team bonding, which it actually was. We told eachother how great we were, and I thanked the coaches for believing in us. It was a really emotional time. And we also got the details on the weather tommorrow, It’s going to be raining by the time we run our race . Our competition is from OC, and well… it’s a bit cooler in Monterey than OC… evil laugh…
We jogged the course, and did some strides of the line, no big deal.

Saturday: California Interscholastic Federation State Championships
Wow… That’s all I’ve got to say. That was a magical end to an incredible season. Being part of team… not just a bunch of guys, but a TEAM, that TEAM will have a place in my heart forever.
My race was pretty godanm good. I got a good first mile 5:10 at the milemark, I almost eased up the second mile, but stopped myself before I had done too much damage. The hill was easy, and cutting the tangents was easier than I thought it would be. I just muskled my way through them weak runners, from corner to corner. Heh… mean aren’t I? I finished the race with my classical flare, passed about 4 guys in the last 100m. I’m happy ‘bout that , My time was 16:52.8 or officially 16:53. The team race was tight. Really really tight. As we finished we all packed together and waited in trepidation for the results. In the end, the race was decided by 7 points. Loyola came in first with 111, and us second with 118. Jeremy and Ivan cried, I almost cried with them, but managed to say a few heartfelt and encouragin’ words to them. “We’ll never have this chance again,” Jeremy said… Those words rang in my head for a few moments and tears welled up inside my eyes before I said, “I’m proud of you, both of you. Seriously proud… now let’s make the best we can next year.” I don’t think there will ever be a team this fantastic at NMC.
Today was the conclusion of the best season of my life. I was being kind of cocky when I titled this thread “Another Season (The best one of my life)” but it turned out to be just that.
Thanks Charlie for lettin’ me get away with this thread
