Another Quick Creatine Question

I agree. Unsubstantiated opinions that are stated as a common fact, in both positive and negative fashion, get passed around. When the media gets ahold of it look out… It is what happened with ephedra. Synephrine will be next and then it is a landslide next door to creatine.

It is like what I saw on the news just the other day here in Chicago. We have autopass toll booths that you can just drive through and a reader in your car communicates with the booth as you drive by.

One worker said about the speed of cars that are supposed to be 15mph I think…“Cars drive through here at 45mp and sometimes up to 60mph making it quite dangerous.” The next question was how he knows the speed? Well he didn’t. No radar guns. He was just guessing. It is the same thing with supps in both positive and negative fashions. And I guess everything really when you look at it that way. But nutritional supplementation is such a fragile thing at the moment.

Ephedra is dangerous to your health bc the manufacturers put them in this dose. If the dosage was more like 2mg then it would probably be fine. The current dosages right now are 24mg which will give you a heart attack sooner or later. The manufacturers screwed themselves over bc they wanted users to notice immediate fat loss!

P.S. Personally I’ve used the supplement and it is dangerous! Especially when combined with Caffeine and other diuretics! They call them synergists! Ya Synergists for a HEART ATTACK!

Let’s not get carried away with fear mongering. Legal dosage in Canada is 8mg. Only in 50 tab bottles. Nothing more. Ephedra is fine to use. If you have a weak heart or are in poor health, a cup of coffee or a can of coke is going to be bad for you. What’s next, ban Kava Kava? Actually, we should let the drug companies tell us what is safe like Vioxx, insead of thousands of years of traditional herbal medicine like Ma huang (ephedra).

Sorry I’m a little late here, but my internet connection has been down for a few days. As far as my injury from last year, it was a severe back cramp that resulted in spasms that lasted for almost 3 months. I’d never had the problem before, and I think creatine contributed to it.

Anyways, with all that being said, when and how much creatine would you recommend taking for this workout schedule…

4:45 Wake Up
6:00 Warm-Up jog, then weightlifting
7:30 Weightlifting ends
8:00 School Starts
1:45 School Ends
3:00 Track Practice Starts (all running/plyos/med balls, no weights)
5:30 Track Practice Ends

Now when would you guys take creatine and how much at each time to get the most benefit from this schedule?

Note: I have no control over this schedule, and its something that I cannot change, so please dont ask me why weightlifting is first before track running or anything like that.

5g 1hour before wts and then 5g immediately after wts with protein taken 50min-1hour later. Why not do wts after track and do your homework before school?

I disagree with the 8mg dosage amount! I think 2-4mg would be o.k.

Oh and Yes I do think they should ban KAVA KAVA! Caffeine stiffens arteries!

8mg ephedra/ephedrine is the dosage that health Canada (a very anal organization) has come up with.

Kava Kava is banned already. I was joking. And, it has nothing to do with caffeine.

Your anti-supplement attitude sounds VERY familiar. In fact, it sounds identical to the one that a former coach of mine from Kelowna (with the initials BVT) had. She didn’t rub off on you that much did she?

The research suggests that post exercise with a protein carb drink is the most effective time to take creatine. Post exercise the body is more insulin sensitive and the carbs obviously raise blood insulin.

Interestingly there is some evidence that adding creatine to your recovery drink can increase the rate of glycogen replenishment.

Personally, I have never found the timing of creatine consumption to be that significant.

No she didn’t but Herb I’m just talking from experience! I used thermogenics from Prolab with a pill that included 24mg ephedrine, 200mg caffeine, and I think 75mg white willow bark (a.k.a aspirin but not has dangerous as making holes in your stomach). The formula worked like a charm I dropped 35lbs in 5 weeks and then another 15lbs in a month for a total of 50lbs in roughly 2 months. I went from 230lbs to 180lb! I did cardio twice a day along with wts. Usually 30-45 min treadmill in the morning and 45min-1hour and 15min of cycling at night. Average amount of sleep 6hrs a day.

I then decided to just do 8mg a day and the ephedrine still got my heart into overdrive for a couple of hours. Not only did my body change, my mind did as well. I would always feel on edge like a bodybuilder on … well you know! I was starting to act like BVT!

It will help you lose wt but at what cost?

I would rather be Rocky than Ivan Drago! Well at least for the substance use policies. Rocky takes 5eggs in the morning, Drago takes a particular shot.

Herb the ephedrine is a drug that people take in different ways. I can only give you my opinion on it. I am pretty open-minded but I know from personal experience this is no easy way out, there’s no shortcut home! AT LEAST NOT WITHOUT A COST!

I have gone over that research before; however, newer research has indicated that creatine taken with protein can actually decrease the amount of protein consumption! So that is why I recommend 5g 1 hour before and 5g immediately after with Protein 45min-1hour afterwards!

Could you post the research? Thanks for reply SPP dvd!

If creatine is a cell volumizer would you really want it before activities?

I was joking about the SPP DVD, I am sure CF and his team are working on this and will release it when everything is as perfect as they can get it. You wouldn’t want to have misinformation bc CF was rushed now would you!

The research I got was from our sports bio-energetic consultant I will have to look on the web for further compliance.

P.S. Right now I would only use Creatine for wts not sprinting!

Great, thanks for the advice.

I have no control over the weight training, its required for football.
