Ankle injury

Hey folks.

About 3 weeks ago I was doing some tempo on grass when I felt some pain on the outside of my left ankle. I didn’t roll over on my ankle, I just landed normally and felt the pain.

I could walk and jog pain free on flat surfaces straight after injuring it and thought I’d be back running after a couple of days, but now it’s been 3 weeks and it’s still the same as the day I hurt it. Everything is pain free except for sprinting and jumping, It’s especially painfull if I try and run a bend on the track (i.e compressing the outside of the ankle).

I’m concerned by how it seems to be not healing. I have been doing self massage, mobility and strengthening exercises with a towel since about 2-3 days after injuring it.

Apart from the rehab I have been doing power speed drills, med-ball throws and weights all 100% pain free and it amazes me when I try and run how painfull it is.

Any suggestions on what I can do to speed up the healing would be great.
