A DVD will most likely be made available in addition to a live discussion.

This sounds absolutely fantastic. Cannot possibly get to it but the DVD would be a must-have. Good luck with it. Hope Al gives a lot of his views about basketball strength and conditioning. I learned a lot just from Charlie’s Vancouver 2002 DVD on the subject.

Indeed. I would certainly purchase the DVD if available. I’m jealous of any attendees. Vermeil is a wealth of knowledge.

I understand that this is a hands on seminar but will Al go in depth on Basketball training? Or rather will there also be a classroom component like the CF Vancouver 2004 seminar? Also will Al be touching base on other sports as well?

I’m hoping to have all of it be a ‘hands-on’ event - covering evaluating athletes, teaching weightlifting movements, covering plyometrics and other explosive movements and other concepts. Of course, there will be lots of time for discussion throughout the workshop.

I don’t anticipate we will only be going over basketball. Probably touch on a whole bunch of sports, particularly for those coaches in attendance (I know we will have personal trainers on hand, track coaches, swimming coaches, football coaches, and others).

It was well worth the 4 hour drive to get there. I learned, and relearned a lot and made a few new connections. I can’t imagine why people wouldn’t take the opportunity to go to these things! Thanks Derek, the workshop was well organized and very informative. How about setting something up in Kelowna next time followed by a few rounds of golf?

Thanks Herb. Once again, the coaches who attended were knowledgeable and provided great questions for discussion. Lots of information was passed on and I think it got us all thinking about how we can improve our training methods.

Thanks again to everyone who attended. I would love to do this again soon - perhaps in Kelowna with Herb. But I must warn you, my golf game is brutal.

Didn’t know what to expect at first; but afterwards, WOW. Learned some new stuff and also other concepts that reinforced previous beliefs. The whole seminar was great especially the part of the seminar that focussed on the evalutaion of athletes, this most useful area is often a greatly overlooked one. The evaluation of athletes, in seeing whether they are ready to lift wts or sprint or play their respective sport/s was very informative.
