AFN, Nike New Sign Kitting Deal

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) yesterday in Washington, United States of America signed a sponsorship deal with sports wear manufacturing giant Nike. The deal, which will see the firm kitting Nigeria, and also offering lavish bonus for Nigerian athletes that excel in international events, was signed on behalf of the AFN by its President, Chief Solomon Ogba.

Ogba, said on telephone from Washington last night that he will give a break down of the deal when he returns to Nigeria, but assured that the deal is set to reposition Nigerian athletics and that everyone would be very happy about what the federation has been able to land for the sport.

“We have been in this discussion for a long while, but now we can proudly announce that we have a new kitting contract with Nike. The new deal compares favourably with those that major countries of the world in athletics get because it is of international standard. It’s a new dawn for us and we hope we can sustain the relationship as we look to ensuring that our athletes excel so that they can reap from it,” Ogba said.
