i have a grade one adductor strain on the day of my meet. I probably aggravated it when i PB’d in the 100m. Anyways i can feel it alittle walking and any adduction you feel it. However the pain is not extreme and i can run linearly relatively well with same speed. SHould i take a whole week off adn run the meets, or do i do some tempo for active recovery?
I would take it slow and not push it too hard. You don’t want this to turn into a chronic condition!
If there is no pain, then tempo is a good option in order to help speed recovery. Also low intensity EMS if you have access.
i’m going to take a whole week off again like i did last year and run once a week. If it feels better i will add one easy speed session so the body remembers the stimulus sort to speak.
i’m going to run with the injury, if it doesnt heal till tuesday then its a chronic. Same thing as last year except now its the left adductor.
