accelerade

would this be a good drink to sip on during workouts, it look like it has the protein, carbs, and bcaa’s?

Yea it’s good stuff. In fact the entire book Nutrient Timing is dedicated to hocking Accelerade and Endurox  But seriously it is a major step up from Gatorade IMO.

Thanks mort, i need to start back taking it. Its pretty cheap also.

Tastes terrible. Good looking sipping on it during a working and now puking.

i love the taste, took it during college

Why do people care what supps taste like? “I wanna win more than anything but I’m not eating that stuff cause it’s icky.”

Does this have anything over just combining Gatorade powder with a little bit of natural (plain) whey powder?

you could do that why also, it wont be same but it would work.

oh you dont know what terrible is till you drink casein protein.

Unless you really starving for those 4 grams of protein that accelerade gives you I really see no benefit over gatorade. (talking about ready made)

As a baseline, start by ingesting 30g carbohydrate and 15g protein (in 500ml water) per hour of training. This means if you’re training for one total hour, you’re sipping your 30g carb and 15g protein drink during that hour. And if you’re training for two hours, you’re sipping your first 30g carb and 15g protein drink during the first hour and your second 30g carb and 15g protein drink during the second hour. from john berardi

As a baseline, start with the fact that it only has 6.5g of protein not 15. Add to it has been argued that protein digest during exercise does not add to performance. Add to it the fact that you asked for opinions. If you dont want an opinion and already have your mind made up dont ask for it.

If you want protein to effect performance eat your regular meals and have a shake afterwards. If your looking for hydration which has the biggest impact on performance drink of a lot of water, if you need buy some electrolyte tabs they are cheap. If you dont truly want opinions dont ask for them.

6.5grms is better then nothing bud, yes i ask for your guys opinions and yes i have the right to voice my opinion. like i mention earlier i have used the drink in college and didnt seem to hurt.

My opinion is that it is not any better than 0 grams and that it is a marketing technique used to suck in consumers and apparently a decent one.

It wont hurt you.

back in college it was free, now i have to pay for it so im giving it second thoughts before spending my cash.

Theres a difference between downing soemthing in one shot and sipping on something through an entire workout. If something was really needed in “order to help me win” I would take it the first way. However even with that being said I agree with what pope said. I don’t even see the benefit on taking it post workout. Not enough protein or carbs in it and on top of that it tastes like shit.

id rather have biotest surge-- it takes amazing, and it works.

my girls think that tastes like crap(well I won’t say what they say it tastes like but…)

Are we still talking about sports drink? I define sports drink as something used during the workout or competition, I would say surge is a recovery drink used for well recovery.

I have a client that has sweating issues so I have him drink endurox during his workouts. I don’t know if it’s the drink or the fact that he’s actually drinking that’s helping him. All I know is that in one game “he’s a goalie” he sweat off 9 pounds 2.2=1kg, 1kg=1L, 9lb of sweat = 4 liters! I think he might have a possible medical condition though. He really has to make sure he takes his Eload pills now before games.

A big thing about these drinks and their research. If the research has been done by the companies then you can come to your own conclusion as to how good they might look in these studies.

I found this link when I did a “sports drink vs water” google search.

I never realized water was such crap. Check this out below. I like how they describe gatorade flavour as “lite”. I don’t find it too “lite” after any sport where I might be actually breathing hard.
