For this year’s Museums Night, The Olympic Museum is offering a programme to cheer people up during this time of economic crisis.
Temporary exhibition
Previewing: Vancouver 2010. Sustainable development and challenging traditions
A foretaste of the exhibition which will open on 8 October. Exclusive focus on the torch relay!
Activities
From 2.30 to 9.30 p.m.: Interactive guided visits: Go on believing
Discover the permanent exhibition in the company of incredible athletes who have overcome all kinds of hardship to become champions.
Times: 2.30, 3.30 & 4.30 p.m. for young visitors aged 6 or over (length: 30 minutes). For adults: 7.30, 8.30 & 9.30 p.m. (length: 50 minutes).
From 2 to 8 p.m.: Hands-on workshop: Making peace
Become an ambassador of peace by making your own Olympic torch and taking part in a relay, as a prelude to the Relay for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.
Times: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 p.m. For ages 6 and over (length: 1 hour).
From 2 to 8 p.m.: Coaching workshop: Stay in control
Breathe in, breathe out, and focus: some tips for combating stress and learning to concentrate and remain positive… even in a hostile environment!
Times: 3, 4.30, 6, 8.30 & 10 p.m. All ages (length: 45-60 minutes).
From 3 to 9 p.m.: Improvisation theatre: Laugh about it!
Turn your frown into a laugh at the financial crisis thanks to the talents of the actor-improvisers from the LesArts company. Humorous and unscripted material on the crisis and sport.
Times: depending on visitor numbers. All ages.
From 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.: Audiovisual projection: Let yourself be captivated!
Live or re-live the magic of the Games by watching Opening Ceremony highlights. A journey through the land of dreams, living art and sport.
Times: non-stop. All ages.
From 6 to 11 p.m.: Restaurant menu: Eat well without feeling guilty
To keep up your mental and physical strength, sample the anti-crisis menu at The Olympic Museum Restaurant. Dishes from CHF 7 to 15.
