250m Speed Endurance

linarski,

I would agree with your approach, but I did this type of workout 4 days in advance. It does work very well. Timmy, what are you reasons for disagreeing other than to just disagree?

Mj that it might drain the cns or hurt the muscle tone. But then again maybe not. Depends on the athlete. What exactly did you do (percentage and distance wise)?

Tellez had Carl do a 400 days out from his 9.86 in 91. If I remember right he told me Carl, Leroy and Marsh did it in the 45s.

Actually, I’ve heard of them doing 350m at around 38-39sec. Carl’s fastest recorded 400m is 47sec.

Very true real deal I overlooked that!

I’ll still stick with my theory on this, ben didnt even perform 300m> let alone 300m near a meet. But then again Ben wasn’t focusing on the 200m dash. I would be interested to hear charlies thoughts on this?

47 may be his official 400m run. However, his practice runs were different. It’s not hard to believe he can run 45 if he is running 350 in 38s. Supposedly Marsh was the best when it came to special endurance runs and Leroy was the worst, but he was also able to run 45 in practice.

On paper, they should be able to run a 44sec 400m, based on their 350m. But in reality, the drop off rate for the last 50m can be pretty high!

I guess we’ll have to take your word for it though…

I would like to point out that the suggested 300m is about a pure 200m sprinter who has worked in his preparation phases with 300’s
Ben was a pure 100m sprinter

I know one thing the smtc guys believe, is that the quality of their special endurance runs is an indicator of their ability to handle the many prelims in a major championship. I am not sold on that, I don’t see the conection.
