Dear Members
By way of Number2 and Charlie Francis we are pleased to announce the exclusive availability of audio recordings that you can listen to off your MP3/MP4 player.
Please see below for the series details and how to get them!
In July of 2008, I had the pleasure to sit down with Charlie Francis at his home in Toronto, and ask him questions on several topics and issues related to training high performance athletes. I have had the opportunity to talk with Charlie on a weekly basis over the phone, and it had always sparked some interesting discussions on training. I wanted to expand on these discussions and see what other nuggets of information that Charlie had not brought to light in his previous writings and seminar presentations.
While Charlie often presents great information on his posts on his web forum at CharlieFrancis.com, having the opportunity to sit down with Charlie and hear him speak is quite an experience. You really get the sense that valuable information is pouring out of his mind spontaneously, as if he is generating more new ideas and insight into the art of coaching and preparing athletes. I also had the opportunity to capture much of his genius with my digital audio recorder so that CharlieFrancis.com could also benefit from this discussion.
The Charlie Francis Athlete Performance Podcasts offer a quality of content not found anywhere else on the internet. Those of you that have read Speed Trap and the Charlie Francis Training System, as well as many of Charlie’s other articles and posts, will find that these audio recordings provide even greater insight into the brilliant mind of Charlie Francis.
Each Podcast is approximately15-20 minutes in length and cover the following topics:
Podcast 1: Advanced Electronic Muscle Stimulation Concepts
Charlie Francis discusses his specific experiences with Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) and advances the discussion by getting into an in depth description of muscle tone and the implications for training and the advanced uses of EMS. Charlie touches on the use of EMS technology for muscle building, pain relief, ionic flow and, more importantly, the resetting of muscle tone. He also discusses the advantages of using EMS for “topping up” your training volume without further taxing the central nervous system. (buy now)
Podcast 2: Application and Methodology of Electronic Muscle Stimulation
Charlie continues the discussion of EMS by reviewing the basic protocols of a successful EMS session. The discussion also gets into the intelligent management of muscle stimulation sessions for athletes who have busy schedules and want to hit many parts of the body. He also provides a review of the use of EMS for injury rehabilitation – including its careful use in hamstring rehabilitation. (buy now)
