On the IAAF page I found the following statistic.

Ok, it’s just numbers, but I still found it very surprising that if you look at it that way:
- there is almost no difference in times between 2000 and 2004
- even a “slow” year like 2003 looks so similar to fast (“olympic”) years as far as times worse than top 10 are concerned.
- if you ran 10.00 - it would have been about 10th and if you ran 10.16 - it would have been about 50th fastest performace in all 3 years:
