training for 60m indoor

I don’t see how anyone can claim a “very serious mistake” from that video.

thanks for the reply

I’ll try to post a video with better quality. Do you think that the lack of hills during the gpp will cause me problems at the start? My 30m times are not bad, I think. They are 3.8x first move, handtimed.

I agree… Its not the clearest of videos!! I could barely make out the start let alone any change in phases.

Ok the guy told me the big mistake he claims I did is that I raise my head 2-3 meters before the 30 m line. He is right, I remember what happened: I saw the line and I stoped pushing. It’s a mistake because it was a 30 m rep not a 27 m rep  but I wouldn’t call it a big mistake.

5/11:

2x3x20m
2x30m, 1x30m (too tired for a second rep)
10 knee tuck jumps
power snatch 2x2x75 kg, chinups 2x7x(bw+35 kg)

here is a better quality video of a 20m rep.

What do you think?

Pure,

That second video looks alot better…much clearer. I thought the run was good. When setting yourself up at the start be a little more patient (don’t rush into a set position). Nice sweep of the lead hand and the position looked good.

WE’d need to slo-mo abit more…maybe an impression , but on acceleration it seems your lower leg do not recover perfectly, a bit “open” in the acceleration…I mean, not enough flexibilty maybe in the quads.
YOur strenght level should warrant you a National team spot at least several
sports…(In Track, in bobsled in rugby:)).
I’d be interested in knowing your bounding tests.
I know many here are not a fan of them, but everytime I have a “strength” sprinter like you, a sligthly more attention to them leads to good improvements.
Also, do not forget the flexibilty issue.
Your running mechanics looks good to me…just I have that feeling of the recovery leg not closing up on the thight optimally.

You are flexing your upper back. No use.

Has your coach also seen this video? What has s/he said to you? S/He knows you much better than any member here and whether these are real problems or issues that will be addressed with time anyway…

thanks everybody for the observations

eroszag: You are right about the lack of flexibility in the quads. Never noticed before that my recovery leg does not closing up on the thigh. Could it be because the distance is short and I still accelerate?

sprinterouge: Do you mean my shoulders, hip and back are not on a straight line?

Nikoluski: Yes he has and told me it was a good run. He did no other observation. I think he believes that If he forces me to change my technique will make things worse.

well, not that bad, but trying to fix these details will make you faster…yes you are still accelerating, but somehow seems too open…what are your competition pbs?
also your standing alternate triple , slj 5fold?

no competition yet…I’ve started sprint training 9 months ago. First competition will be 60m indoor in 2 months. I’ve run 10.72 for 100m last July (following taper period) but it was handtimed and I don’t trust it.

As for the tests you ask me…I have no idea. I know my slj is the best compared to the other members of our team but we are just 4 sprinters and the 2 of them are injured :p.

6/11:

Tempo 2x8x100m

7/11: Back squat 1x2x190 kg (pb, I’m getting stronger  )

Bench press 1x1x142.5 kg

Tempo 3x200m. Normally I would do 6x200m. But I’m tired of these 200 m for tempo. I’ll ask my coach for alternatives. I’ve heard of the med ball circuit…

What sort of time/pace are these 200’s in? 3r for 200m tempo isn’t really much…I used to do 2 sets of 5 runs at 28sec pace on the grass.

33s for 200m and 100m walking between reps (on the grass). You are right the volume is low but I feel exhausted after heavy lifting. Normally I do 5-6x200m (still low volume). I hate tempo

boy you guys run fast 200m on grass, i always hit 42 seconds or more. Any faster and lactic can start to build.

8/11:
Tempo 4x100, 4x100, 3x200, 2x100

9/11:
3x30m
1x40m
1x60m
Plyos stair jumps
Lunges 1x10x80 kg, Dips 3x6x(bw+50kg), Rows

The 3x30m was good. 40m and 60m reps were slow

10/11: Tempo 3x(2x100,2x200)

11/11: off

12/11:

2x4x10m, 1x10m (stoped it there because I got tired)
2x20m, 1x20m (I didn’t do a last 20m rep, not explosive)
10x(from the ground jump on a box and then on the mat)
10xSLJ
10x(med ball throw and land on the mat)
10xKnee tuck jumps
power clean 3x1x110kg
clean pull 2x3x130kg
chinups 1x6x(bw+50kg), 1x8x(bw+30kg)

13/11: Tempo 3x4x100m

insane weighted chin up:eek:
insane full squat, too.

they are just an expression of your overall “neural” power.

more vids with sprints plz.:stuck_out_tongue: good log

14/11:

Front squat 1x2x150 kg (pb), 1x1x160 kg (huge pb  )
Military press 1x1x82.5 kg (more like a push press, felt tired from squat)
Track:
A,B,C drills and abs

I’m getting stronger at the gym but I don’t see an improvement on the track times (30m or 40m) :frowning:

What is your inventory of strength exercises? Are you doing back squat at all?
