The vast majority of all great talent is wasted. This is by definition, as success is based on the conjunction of talent, attitude, coaching, and circumstance.
Very true Charlie,
The list of those athletes who have fulfilled MOST of their potential would be a lot shorter …
Jerry Rice?
Nightmare:
Can you give us a link to where that video can be downloaded? I cannot locate it on Google.
Thanks!
Mike
the video is called “amazing deion sanders” and i found it on kazaa, you may be able to find it on any file sharing service or i can email it to you, or anyone else, that has an email account large enough to handle a 13,000kb file.
The most talented athletes i have came across are playing streetball. I have watched numerous guys with well over 40 inch verticals, you can only wonder if they had the same opportunites and circumstances what they could of become.
Greatest talent ever wasted? Well, that would have to be Sharmer who ran 11.1 on a wet grass track at age 13!
A more interesting question might be ‘what sprinters you know who you think could have made it in the NFL?’
… NBA?
LOL

Debbie Wells.
Selected at 14 for Montreal Olympics. 11.1sec (m) windy on grass, 11.3sec (m) legal on grass. and 22.9sec (m) legal in early 1976 (a metre behind Denise Boyd, who went on to reach 200m Olympic final).
Went on to be selected for and attend three Olympics (but injury knocked her out before competing in both Moscow and LA).
Debbie has developed into a really nice woman and mum who helps coach schoolkids in the Aussie countryside from where she came.

I am now, officially, on suicide watch.
I have an interesting- but sadly disillusioning story about Miller Lite girls. A client of mine had a picture of some Miller Lite girls on his basement wall. One amazingly built model caught my eye. He said: “That’s…(his wife!). They kept her face from the photo shoot but added the body later!”
