Sprinting in a wetsuit?

I read this article in an NSCA journal and found it online at

http://www.schreiner.edu/academics/exsi/2009/EXSI-SuitArticleVol8.pdf

It recomends running in a 3mm or 6mm wetsuit because it is supposed to create elastic resistance to all parts of the body and increases muscle firing. But i didn’t see any actuall research referenced for its effectiveness. Maybe just another in a long line of gimmicks. Pretty interesting though. Thoughts?

This came up on the forum last year http://www.charliefrancis.com/community/showthread.php?t=20735. Pretty much a gimmick as you suggest.

Let me review my Baywatch DVD sets to figure out exactly what is going on with the wetsuit running (wet swimsuits that is…).
