Keirans in Dunedin? Do you know y? Did he used to live it Canterbury? He’s way off top form this season. From what i’ve heard he’s become too much of a ‘teenager’ …
Was Yarride not available for either of these teams?

some interesting ‘selections’ especially the Down Under meet
We did not nominate him for the Down Under meet. He strained his hamstring quite badly at the Nationals T&F at the end of March and then aggravated it the following weekend at the NISS. So figured he needed a rest.
We did not realise a team was being sent to the Junior Commonwealth Games. We did hope that if a team was being sent Yarride would be in it. We are originally from India and it would have been great him competing there. In fact I worked for about a year in Pune where the games are being held. When he had gone to Brisbane at the start of the year someone had mentioned that NZ was not sending a team.
Anyway, from the selection Tama Toki deserves to go - and it would be a toss up between Todd and Yarride. Todd did beat him at the Nationals (but I think that was because he pulled his hamstring during the race). However. so be it.
Todd may have got the nod as he is a bit older? Nothing against him though.
I’m surprised that other team has been given NZ team status, I know 10 of them and it would be interesting to see how more than 3-4 could be classified as genuine NZ rep potential.

It probably may also be on performances through the season. Yarride had some good results but his times did not improve much.
We are looking at moving to Wellington soon. My wife has got a job there and Yarride will probably join school there next term. Still not decided on which school. Am open to suggestions (and bribes ). Also will be looking for a coach for him in Wgtn. So, once again, looking for suggestions.
One of the factors that has impeded him this season is the lack of a really good coach, I feel. To take the next step he does need some proper training. He spent a week in Auckland with Roy Williams and feels he learnt more in that week than in the previous two years.
Can’t help with Wellington sorry but if I hear of anyone I’ll let you know.
Talking to one of the parents of a child going to GC meet they said it was almost a case of those that were keen to go got included
Did you see this?
