From an old chat with Remi : Grace Jackson worked with him 1982-84, Fred Thompson (-1986) and Don coached her through the 88 Olympics.
Her great results in 88 suggest she responded best to old school coaching
That would the point at which Remi came to the US from the Ukraine and was still in New York. I forget who gave him his break into coaching there, but it may even have beem Fred Thompson. I know that he was coaching at Pratt. From there CF’s buddy , Brooks Johnson brought him to Stanford to coach the sprinters. He was let go (fired) after a couple of years or poor results. From there he moved to the pro + high schooler combo.
As for Jackson’s training, remember what CF as said about long athletes responding will to L-to-S. DQ’s methods would be along those lines.
