Lucerne 100m: Nesta Carter 9.86 +1.0m/s

I got the race at home on dvd…gonna see if i can upload it…

excellent…

He got killed to 50m, so he had to turn it on and ran through the line.

Judge for yourself if he was trying or not. Makes no diff to me

Are you the white dude that got out??

No, I wasnt in that race. White dude is Mike LeBlanc, pb of 10.17s. He made the ncaa final in 07 when dix ran 9.93 and he had that same start on him.

Leblanc has had a great start for a while now, and it can make it hard to judge other starts around his for this reason.

Is his back still fucked enough that he no longer does squats? He’s a forum member here, I can remember reading where he injured it doing back squat summer of 07 or 08 cant remember.

This is Ben Johnson’s little brother lol…

Btw 9.86 is not that unexpected from him no? He ran 10.24 into a -5.x headwind. I thought that converted to a 9.87. Besides that he ran 9.98 and 9.91 but was plagued by lot’s of injuries…

Not sure about the back squats, but he is back in great shape finally healthy. He’s been running great and I wouldnt be surprised to see him equal or better his personal best in the near future.

Here’s the video. Great race from the top three, J-Mee Samuels running a PB while beating Mike Rodgers has to be a huge confidence boost for him!

Glad someone put it up…i was struggling with my pc recognising the disk…

I think Nester is a great athlete…9.86 is no joke. I think we’ve become used to seeing 9.5/9.6 we’re forgeting that 9.8 is an amazing time.

So you mean to tell me that this Nester would have finished just behind (2/100ths) behind Tyson Gay’s performance in Stockholm -who was going all out because he’s racing Bolt by the way - Thats why I have doubts over the time. Not over his ability.

If that time is accurate, that’s one of the most relaxed and routine looking sub 9.9’s I’ve seen from anyone.

Even if the timing system is in question, his relaxation is superb and the fact that he is so heavily muscled makes this even more impressive.

That was an impressive start and 50m from lane 3. Wow!

That’s a couple of thick looking dudes. Anyone else think that Carter’s knee height is lower than other people who have run 9.8?

Who is the white dude in that video?

They are talking about a different video posted in this thread in which Dix comes from behind to win.

nesta carter, man this dude just sticks to the track when he runs, alotta power as well generated from his elastic contacts. Once he’s at top speed he reminds me of a hybrid of big ben, mo, and gat. The apparent minimal knee height at top end has me seeing flashes of gatlin 9.77, greene 9.80, greene 9.87og04, all of which werecrazy looking demoss of elastic strength.

Here is his profile: http://www.athletics.ca/profile.asp?pID=162

I think with the right coaching and mentoring, this guy can become something great.
