OTA’S are only one of the many things teams have going on, mini camps, qb school etc. my point is most players go off and train with blow joe for about 4-6 weeks then they attend there team workouts for 12-16 weeks. when i attended detriot camp, i wanted the extra money for attending workouts so thats always a plus.
The guy in picture #6 looks to be Alex McKechnie. He’s a local physiotherapist from Vancouver that Shaq first used to clear up his back problems. The guys wrapped up in the bands are performing core stability prehab work that he favours. A lot of the local NHL guys do similar work - especially those with ‘sport groin’ injuries.
As Kacz. said - it’s pretty hard to comment on a S&C program from a few pics, and keeping players healthy at the pro level is the name of the game (not that I would particularly train athletes of this qualification soley with these methods).
The point im trying to make is pro coaches can use any methods they want and still keep there athletes safe, now being able to teach safe methods is another story. Look at the pro level and the teams that use ol’s, barbell and db’s are usually the better teams.
Clip 1: ben gordon performing ol’s and box jumps, and like i said earlier i wouldnt use huge loads.

Clip 2: Arizonia Cardinals once again ol’s are not heavy.
Whats up with Ben gordon and the power plate?
What is the web address for Number Two’s site?
Thanks
You can do safe and progressive good things or safe and progressive junk. the Yankees S and C guys pushed lifting as the means to more speed without any running- with the predictable result that there were a rash of hamstring pulls- and their departure. (Gee. Remember the list of the top 10 best exercises to improve your 40y time that didn’t include any running?)
he also had them during zero mobility work.
Can you put up a link to this site please?
You’d think 40y time would be heaps important to baseball players, having to make it to first base and all. But I reckon most of them think they’ll hit too many flat out homers so don’t bother with foot speed. How big is Manny Ramirez? I mean he’s not exactly agile…
Haha, have you watched MLB? Most people run about 80% to first base especially if they think they’ll probably get thrown out. The only time they run hard is if they’re stealing (where their lead is more important that their speed) or they hit a ground ball in the final inning of an elimination game.
I have the off season program from BYU college in NCAA…It is for the 6.11 PF/C and opposite to your oppinion, some of the most important exercises are exactly squats, DL, and especially hang cleans and other variations of clean, jerk and snatch… The loads are pretty heavy(the programe is for 8 weeks) and they are using almost the same program in preseason workouts…
So don’t be so sure that they are not using big loads, this is for college, and in the NBA it must be much harder in the off or pre season…They wouldn’t be strong as they are if they wouldn’t do hard with weigths…
