I guess there is no way to “ensure” that I’m getting all the essential aminos, but by combining protein sources from nuts & seeds, cereals, and legumes I hope that i have all my bases covered. I also have the supplement Vega around the house which makes for a quick boost if I need it.
When I first started this type of diet I researched different foods for their amino acid profiles and kept a journal for two weeks to see how many calories and protein i was consuming. I didn’t see any problems so now i just kind of try to balance things.
So with all that said I’m obviously not trying to advocate for a veg diet, I’m just saying that it gets a bad rap.
I’ll also say that I’ll eat meat when I can get it from a ‘clean source’, which I should be able to when I get home for christmas.
