Yep - made my stomach turn. We put in our orders for grass fed beef right after watching this documentary. I’m willing to spend some extra money to get high quality food.

yea that’s the ONLY beef I eat (grass fed). Buffalo meet (grass fed) is VERY good too. It’s better then beef. I had some of my best squat lifts after I ate buffalo meat.

Yeah just got that from netflix.com. Scary stuff. I have to say, eating meat from the farm by my house is much better tasting than supermarket meat. Not as dry either. The only drawback (like no2 mentioned) is the cost. Pisses me off that it cost more to feed my family properly than it does at the drive through.

Yea I know, it’s so easy and cheaper to get a can of soda for 50/75 cents then a bottle of clean non fluoridated water to drink. Basically, companies can lower the cost because they use cheap artificial chemicals to create various drinks and foods instead of the using REAL ingredients as they once did.

In the end, I will just pay the cost now by buying clean food then paying the cost later with medial bills due to poor heath due to the fact that I was trying to save a few bucks. I feel for you guys who have families, you might want to look into Trader Joe’s, the prices they ask seem reasonable to me.

Trader joes is pretty good. I just go one step further. I installed a water filter system in my house and just use a metal water bottles. The only bottles I buy is for booze and flavored selter :slight_smile:

Hopefully, more people start to demand higher quality food (i.e. organic, grass fed beef) so that the price starts to come down and we shift away from food mass production. I’m also looking into growing my own vegetables on a larger scale and maybe even looking into greenhouse technology for my backyard.

Eating at restaurants is becoming less and less attractive for me as well. Who knows where their food comes from and what they do to it. Combined with the fact that employees may have hygiene issues and communicable diseases like hepatitis. Obviously I’m getting more paranoid as I get older.

I actually had some knowledge of the pop industry. The same water was used for both the water and the pop yet it was possible to charge more for the water even though it cost less to produce. that’s the marketplace.
meat is a huge expenxe for most with a big premium for the good stuff.

There are so many times that I go out to eat and Im sitting there just thinking “I could have done a better job and healthier too”

Nope you are not paranoid. I’m self employed and I’m in and out of restaurants all the time to service them. I see the areas that the customers don’t see.

Some restaurant owners are just nasty, they cut corners by skimping out on proper cleaning and many hire foreign workers (to save money) who may not be properly trained or up to date in basic hygienic standards.

that video was a real eye opener. Does anybody know what they use to keep the food from getting moldy after 4+years?

We have a Butcher here where you can buy 100day Grain Feed Beef and eggs from chickens that were fed 100day grain also! Insane yummyness!
However - here in Australia, in Queensland, Our cows are roam free to eat grass all the time. You see it all the time. As for pigs and chickens, well…

100day grain fed - its worth the flight over just to try it!! :slight_smile:
