  • Need to get skinfoldā€™s down, not happy with them. Very happy with the way the body feels after the long trip and racing over the weekend. Achilles doesnā€™t effect me anymore.

iā€™ve been doing round house kicks w/both legs anywhere from chest height to head height and the resulting blood flow to the lower legs and achilles seems to be having a positive effect on my nagging achilles. Iā€™m thinking more blood flow to this area aids in their repair. Also gaining some good mobility in the groin(mobility I lost since hockey career ended at juniors) and feeling incredibly agile as you said.

do you think the force or microtrauma(for want of a better term) experienced by the front bottom of shins, while performing round-house kicks, might somehow cause collagen growth to the rear to be stimulated?

Good question, it may be that kicking actives neural drive by decreasing golgi tendon inhibition. Kicking is similar to dynamic stretching with more power and force.

Last two gifts on grass, hamstring has restricted me. Ironic that I started this tread on the basis of achilles problems and they have been good. Hamstring doesnā€™t pose any problems during training, only during racing on soft grass. Good news is that they havenā€™t pulled up sore today. I will resolve these hamstring issues.

With Hindsight, I probably did go to fast 3 days out. CNS system may have been loaded, I do believe these hamstrings problems are neural rather then Q/H imbalance.

4 neural stresses over the last 7 days. Hindsight is always 20/20. I will learn from this mistake for future races. Still early in the season.
