Chieftan's Championship Quest

Week 7 (week of April 25)

Monday: G focused on 1 step drill to tighten up the lead leg action, then did starts to 3H (1H touchdown time was 2.69-2.74 with freelap. Some of these reps were also with the 100m girls to bring the practice intensity up a notch.

Sprinters did block starts to 30m off a whistle. They were grouped by speed levels.

Tuesday:
G did quick 3 step drill at half spacing x 8H, then finished with 1 x 60m (7.50,7.44,7.57, 7.39, 7.25, 7.30 freelap timed)
Sprinters did baton work only, as there was a track meet scheduled during practice time. Everyone else just did a good warm up and drills

Wednesday
Another meet scheduled, so entire team did warm-up and stretch out to feel better. They are starting to get beat up.

Thursday: meet
G ran technically really bad but had a decent time for her at this time of year.
M ran another fast 100m with lots of areas to improve on. in the 200m, she ran over 1 second faster than last week going 27.1, to my surprise!

Friday: warm-up and stretch

Saturday: Meet:
M ran in her grade level 200m. She would have been fine in the varsity level 200m but I wanted her to get an idea of what it’s like at a big invite. she won the meet in terrible weather running 27.18 FAT. Another 10th grader ran well too, she is my #3 800m runner and #1 400 m runner. She ran 28.36.

G ran terrible. Her back started hurting earlier in the week. She was ranked 4th in the meet, finished 6th. I don’t even know where to go with her right now. It’s been very frustrating 10 months with her.
