Excellent 400m runner.
I remembered him well especially because he moved to the second lane (when setting the 4x400m WR) when moving around the last curve into the home straight. It looked to me as he was too fast to run on the first lane :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah well I suspect that age wasn’t a factor in his death. Regardless, it’s a shame and my sympathy goes out to his family.

i absolutley detest the fact that nearly all the media headline the fact that he was caught doping…so what big deal!

the fact is the poor guy is dead period.

Chatham County Sheriff’s Maj. Gary Blankenship said Pettigrew’s car was found parked to the side of a bridge. Blankenship said there was evidence that the 42-year-old Pettigrew had taken sleeping pills and there was no sign of foul play.

He was lying lifeless in the back seat of his car with a bottle of sleeping pills, Unisom, next to him, his car was found some place on the road between his house and the university. The news was reported by Chatham County Sheriff Major Gary Blankenship.
