If you follow Charlie’s template, you start with accelerations of 10-30m then gradually increase. For me, that means just 20-30m for 2-3 weeks, then 4X4X40 for 3 weeks, then 60 for 3-4 weeks, and only after the preparation do you up the SE to 80 or longer.
The purpose(s) of going out to 80 are to cut the CNS load when going for peak performance and to help you maintain your power all the way to 55-60, but if you haven’t built your fitness (at speed) yet, it doesn’t serve the same purpose.

my friend CF does 10-30 and spilt 60’s longer then 2-3 weeks, buy the gpp and spp dvd.

Exactly…a nice gradual build up. I don’t think 50m will hurt him, but as we both mentioned 80m should be the very last element.

80’s can be done in gpp on sat as SE.
If you want fine…as I always say though…so long as your not overloading and your body is accustomed to that type of volume/intensity.

once again buy the gpp dvd, SE runs are done on the hills starting week 7 at 60m and working up to 80’s really quick.
