Is your coach coming from a background of a different sport. It reminds me of an old coach of mine who came from the army as a PTI. Very good for getting fit, but I didn’t get quicker. I would argue the recovery is too short, and tht from that recovery you won’t be able to complete those runs at 100%!!
It’s usually more after that too, so we do the 200s plus few 100s or 150s or maybe some 30-50m sprints. Apparently workouts will change drastically in a couple weeks, and tempo that long is completely eliminated
After reading the short to long thread and the times people have run off of this type of volume and rest (albeit over 60) this might be good for this time of the season. It ought to improve the ATP-PC capacity.
Well im only 15 so running 22 isnt happening, plus for this team we dont have access to a indoor track (my other team we do) so it becomes running the straight and running it back, therefore times will drastically slow down due to 2x accelerations + a stop after 100m, my 200m is edging a 23 but in indoor a 24.7 was my best, though last year I had a 27 in indoor and turned that into a 24 in outdoor, just not my time during indoor…
