Walter Dix, 19.69s (+0.9)
This was after a 10.05s 100m
2nd place in the 200m was 20.56. Could this be the largest winning margin for a sub20s race?
Also, 29.74s same day double. Must be close to the Ato Boldon same day double’s…

Tells the story.
Good run from Max Smith to win the 1500m in 3:41.09. He comes from about 5 minutes down the road from me. He started running at around age 14 for rugby and was a couch potato till then.
No, remember Spearmon’s run last year where he did 19.6 and next best was like 21 high?
Wow this is jusy rediculous, 4 Americans at 19.6
It’s about time though, isn’t it?
We had the SMTC boys at 19.7 from '83 to '92, and then there was M.J at 19.3.
Apart from that, it’s been pretty quiet, so this 19.6 onslaught was inevitable.
I was there it was incrediable how he ate up the curve and just keep pressing all the way it seemed. You can check out the video at trackshark.com they have it on the very first page you dont have to serch for it or nothing just click it twice. A side note: i feel the 200m and 400m records are heading for a fall.
america need to run a 4x200 this season.
Gay, Spearmon, Dix, X, Crawford, Merritt in the mix. That would be something sweet.
Hey Dix dominated and didnt even pull up at 190.
the way it should be done in one-off races or finals. I can’t stand when Asafa does it, and I saw in a video interview that he wanted to get out of the habbit because he realised he was losing heaps. That 19.90 he ran apparently was with a semi slow at 150 and a dramtic slow at 185. Rumours were he could have broken 19.60!
I always knew dix was capable of a great race. He has sick top speed so well done to him. I still dont think even will all these americans running 19.6x that michael johnsons record will fall. 19.32 is immense. Like going from 9.80 to 9.63. We’ll see though
