The fastest Clean you'll ever see

I thought this was sped up at first.

what was so fast? looked pretty normal for pro olympic lifters to me…

If you want to see a fast snatch look for naim sulemanoglu (sp?) .

He got up and under that bar amazingly fast. Can you find me another video of a clean that fast in the 230KG range?

Its not sped up people. Kahi kahiasvili was known for not finishing his triple extension (hips weren’t fully extended) before getting under tha bar.
Same with Dimas, jerking his head back when extending his body.
Some minor technique peculiarities even at the very elite levels

Rainy - you’ve picked Khaki, and yes, he had an unbelieveable pull. Certainly one the the best and most consistent lifters of our era.

As acid mentioned above, he and the other greeks never reach true triple extension with the lifts, something we’re starting to see more and more these days…

I’ve observed this mechanical trait in elite lifters for as many years as I’ve been watching the sport.

The heavier the load in the clean the easier it is to more rapidly move the unloaded body under the bar via a pull lesser in height.

This is a more favorable tactic for those whose squat strength might more heavily outweigh their back strength/ability to pull the big weights fast so long as they are able to get under the barbell quickly and stand up with it.

I for one believe that incomplete extension in the OL’s is something that just happens to some lifters and is/must not be taught. Just as the “scoop” happens if the 1st pull is correct.
The minor technique differences/pecularities in some lifters may be rooted simply in the way their CNS is wired, or it was simply naturally ingrained that way from an early age because it didn’t hinder them.
I also believe that Asafa’s lack of triple extensions is not something he was taught. It just comes naturally for him this way.
I could be wrong though.

Dimitry Berestov - 230

Also a 240 @ 105

Very impressive clean. The 230 looks almost effortless.

Here’s the 240

on an unrelated yet impressive lift with no leg drive (granted I don’t like the bounce and elbow flare), here’s whose claimed to be Chigishev benching 225kg but it doesn’t look like him to me.

can anyone corroborate that this is him because the bone structure of his face, especially in profile, just doesn’t look like Chigishev to me.

Although I must note that I don’t doubt that Chigishev, whether it’s him or not in the video, can press 225.

Never trust a user with the name ‘TheBiggestDouche’

All those Russian 105’s are smooth as glass, especially Berestov and Klokov. They all look like they should be playong LB or FB at PSU or LSU or Pitt ;)There is also a good clip of Berestov military pressing 150 somewhere.

I really think that is Chigishev on that 225, at least everyone seems to think it is. I’m gonna look again.

A very very miniscule amount of momentum into that press. Very impressive jerk on the 240KG.

This is one my all time favourite videos to watch of weightlifting. Dimas in training - it got pulled off youtube a few times but kicks around elsewhere. He sure makes that 170KG power clean look casual.

Kahki made the catch in 1.13 seconds from the time the bar started to bend, and his legs were straight 2.29 seconds after the bar started to bend.

Berestov made the catch in 1.47 seconds from the time the bar started to bend, and his legs were straight 2.53 seconds after the bar started to bend.

Berestov was quick though.

The most impressive lift I’ve ever seen is the 190 POWER(!) clean by 77kg Pablo Lara. (He later won the Olympic gold with a full clean and jerk of 205).

That was bad as hell!

I watch him to get me pumped he’s so explosive.
