Strongest Man Scam

 January 2005 - A man with an uncanny resemblance to Iran’s best-loved Olympic champion has been arrested for making $705,000 in scams by pretending to be the gold-medallist’s brother, a newspaper said on Wednesday.
The Iran daily showed a photograph of a man who looked like “Iranian Hercules” Hossein Rezazadeh.

Hailed as “the world’s strongest man”, Rezazadeh smashed the world super-heavyweight weightlifting record to win gold in Sydney in 2000 and repeated the feat in Athens last year.

“Investigations showed this man has been introducing himself as Dr. Arman Rezazadeh, the half-brother of the Iranian Hercules,” the newspaper said.

“With this claim, he said he could exercise influence with legal officials and in government bodies,” it added.
