Speed Training

In “speedtrap” I noticed that a speed session would follow this order.

  1. warmup
  2. relaxed starts
  3. cones
  4. longer sprints
  5. power sprints blcks

Q: Why wouldnt block starts come before the longer standing starts? :karate:

this is the method i use for meets. the longer sprints are just used to help me warmup a little bit more. i dont do but a couple of them.

I will have to change the way I do my speedworkouts because I always conducted short blocks before longer speedwork.

i wouldn’t be quick about changing what you do. just change a little at a time. it’s important to do what works for you. an athlete should never change just because someone else does it different. if you have success with what you do, why change it?
