Saw a large add in T&F. Contacted the owner and he said they have almost a million back- ordered. It’s funny how people want the next greatest gadget as opposed to sound training principals and hard work.
i used the strength shoe before, for the 3 month program provided and it works well. although i believe it would be difficult to fit 2-3 sessions a week in with 2-3 sessions of speed.
Great way to get a tibial stress fracture.
The shoe is basically useless. For almost everyone, training will lead to gains.
This idiotic design has been around for 20+ years. There is nothing new or innovative about it. It used to be called the Strength Shoe. Do a search on the forum. We’ve discussed this innumerable times, along with tow cables, parachutes, Moye starting blocks and every other dumbass gadget you can think of.
One again, my list of useful training tools for speed development:
Sprint spikes
Cones
Med ball (4 or 5kg)
Stopwatch
Be leery of anything not on that list. For more advanced athletes: starting blocks and maybe isorobic resistance device (used conservatively).
