Charlie or anyone else who wants to chime in on this, when towing the sled, what type of start do you use? Is there slack in the chain?
I mostly use falling start, no slack in the chain
You can use any type of start you want, obviously other than out of blocks. 3 point, push up, falling all work.
And yes no slack in the line for sure
I’ve actually seen it done a lot here, with out of blocks start; they just put the sled to a diagonal to start with, and then the sled eventually aligns.
Do you think it’s a bad idea? (I’ve never tried it btw)
in the past I have used a trampoline frame as a sled. as it is elevated well above the ground you can use it out of the blocks and it slides right over…
My issue would be that starting on the side, you would have to offset that weight pulling you to the side by pushing harder with one leg creating an imbalance. and when the blocks are practiced without resistance you would still be pushing harder with that leg causing you to zig zag out of the blocks.
Yeah having a sled higher than the blocks works, or just use the isorobic exerciser works to
We are currently using tyre over 10-20m, started off with falling start then progressed to tripod, once again no slack.
