Last year one of the fastest girls on my squad ended her season early due to severely sharp pains in her left shin bone. After further diagnosis, the doctors determined it was a small fracture.
Last fall she began to work out again and after the second day of TEMPO on GRASS and one day on the track, she had the same pain in her other shin bone and the first. Since then she has had it in both legs. SHe tried to run again a couple of weeks ago, albeit on her own in the gymnasium and in the hallway and, guess what…both legs, in pain, again.
It was then that she told me that she does not drink milk and never really has (since you know when of course.)
She is now taking calcium pill supplements and hopes to be ready to train when the actual season starts in mid march.
WIll these suppls take effect by then??
