Optimistic Aussie: Patrick Johnson

Optimistic Aussie Patrick Johnson is set to have the busiest program (in the Helsinki world championships in August) of any team member after bettering the qualifying standards for both individual sprints with just two days to spare.
``Every athlete who performs in any major meet would want a medal,’’ Johnson said.

``But I’m looking for more than that … if I stop at a medal there may be a world record there.

``You’ve got to set your sights at the highest level because you keep striving towards that.’’
Johnson ran 9.93sec for the world’s fastest time in 2003.
