Within the last 7-10 days, both of my big toes have suddenly gone numb. It feels like they’ve been sitting in snow or ice and I can prick them with a pin and feel next to nothing. I haven’t had much of any good training this week due to time constraints, but I imagine this problem will affect performance.
I have been seeing a chiro for physical therapy regarding a chronic sprained ankle and today I told her about my recent toe issue. So after adjusting me, she put me on some machine thats like a mechanized reverse hyper extension (torso remains fixed while sacrum rotates) with a heat pack on my back. I thought she said I might have a seized SI nerve. Following this treatment I had the feeling back in my toes. But then tonight after work, my toes are numb again.
Anyone know of what might be going on? What kind of Dr. should I see? (Orthopedic, Neurosurgeon, etc.) What kind of scans should I get? I have scoliosis (as of 2005 it was 11 degrees) if that matters.
And to FURTHER complicate things, right before this problem started, my chiro actually adjusted my back to correct some leg length issues… I read about Charlie’s athlete getting screwed up because of adjustments and I’m wondering if that’s what has happened to me.
