Nigeria picks Af-Games team

Nigeria selects 38 for All Africa Games

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has released a list of 38 athletes who will represent Nigeria at the forthcoming 9th All Africa Games in Algiers in July.

According to a local website, the list includes athletes who took part in the just concluded 18th Nigeria NNPC-Mobil Track and Field Championship held at the newly refurbished Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

On the list are also notable athletes like current Africa’s fastest man, Olusoji Fasuba, former athletics World Cup champion Uchenna Emedolu.

In the women’s pool, Gloria Kemasuode tops the list which also includes Francisca Idoko and 2002 Commonwealth Games shot put champion Endurance Ojokolo.

The list will be forwarded to the National Sports Commission (NSC) for ratification.
