Melaine Walker…World and Olympic champion Melaine Walker will miss the remainder of the 2010 season with an Achilles injury.

World and Olympic champion Melaine Walker will miss the remainder of the 2010 season with an Achilles injury.

Walker, who won the 400m hurdles at the Beijing Olympic and Berlin World Championships, was not at her best in the three obstacle races she ran this season. In Berlin she ran 52.42 for the Area Record.

Juliet Campbell, Walker’s manager, when asked if her athlete would be out for the rest of the season, answered, “Yep, she is out for the season.”

Campbell, an Olympian, said she was told the injury was an Achilles.

In her three 400m hurdles races, Walker ran 55.33 for fifth at the Shanghai Diamond League while running 55.90 and 55.96 for third and second at meets in Brazil.
