COMMONWEALTH Games silver medalist and 4 x 400m relay national record holder Peter Rwamuhanda is stranded at Nsambya hospital with an amputated leg.

Rwamuhanda, who lost his leg to cancer, needs sh1.3m to complete his hospital bill.

The 1982 Commonwealth Games silver medallist was admitted at Nsambya on July 13 and is due to be discharged.

“I am happy that I’m alive. But the pain is unbearable,” the ailing athletics coach said on Friday.

“He was a great athlete who should not be forgotten. Even if he gets out of hospital, he needs more financial support,” said Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) secretary Beatrice Ayikoru.

puts it into perspective when we think we are having a bad run, theres always someone worse off then you.

also $1.3m ugandan is US$710

how many members have we got here?

CF Forum supposedly has more than 7,000 members. Whether that is accurate, and how many are active, who knows.

The biggest problem may be ensuring any money gets delivered to the right person and is spent on his medical and rehabilitation needs etc. What a shocking thing to happen, especially to a guy who once used his legs to run like the wind. And now he is a fellow coach.
