Jones not ready for track return
Marion Jones was the top ranked sprinter for six years in a row
Marion Jones is still some weeks away from a return to competitive action, according to her agent Charles Wells.
The former sprint queen will not run in Saturday’s Walnut Mount SAC meeting in California, which she traditionally uses to launch her season.
“She’s still not ready,” said Wells. "In another three weeks she should be ready to make an appearance.
Three-time Olympic champion Jones has slumped since her name was dragged into the Balco steroid scandal, although she has never failed a drugs test.

In the past 12 months Jones has come nowhere near the form which made her world’s pre-eminent female sprinter in the late 1990s.
She has not raced since withdrawing from the US Championships last June.
