I’ve read a lot of threads on supplements here and have begun to try a few based on what I’ve read. Does this make sense? I’m trying help recovery and gain some strength without weight gain.
I take glutamine, fish oil and a multi vitamin when I get up in the morning.
I take tyrosine and arginine before workouts on my speed days – not tempo days.
I take creatine and/or bcaas after workouts.
I take zma before bedtime.
I typically do acceleration work once a week; max velocity work once a week; and speed endurance work once a week. I lift on those days – mostly deadlift, cleans, push press, step ups and do about 4x10 plyos. I do tempo in between those days and take a day off each week.
My bodyweight is in the 185-190 area. I’m 6-3 and 52 years old. I compete in track and field events about 12-15 times a year. I’m running mid to upper 12s in 100; high 25s low 26s in 200; hurdle and high jump sometimes.
I have not used supplements much in the past, but given my age, I’m thinking they might help some. Looking for comments on that, but I welcome comments on the rest of my program as well.
Thanks for your input in helping to keep this aging body of mine moving along.
