KINGSTON, Jamaica, June 27 (AFP) - Veronica Campbellcompleted a sprint double here Sunday by capturing the200-meter title at the Jamaican Athletics Championshipsto secure another berth for the Athens Olympics.
Campbell, who captured the women’s 100m crown in 11.06seconds Saturday, won the 200m final in 22.18 seconds.Aleen Bailey, third in the 100m, finished second in22.70 with Bev McDonald third in 22.85.
Steve Mullings, second in the men’s 100m Saturday, wonthe men’s 200m crown in 20.22 seconds with ChristopherWilliams second in 20.43 and Ricardo Williams third in20.65.
Mullings was seconds to Asafa Powell in the 100m,Powell winning in a national record 9.91 seconds withMullings second in 10.04.
Delloreen London won the women’s 100m hurdles in 12.51seconds with Brigitte Foster second in 12.56.
Maurice Wignall won the men’s 110m hurdles in 13.42seconds with Ricardo Melbourne second in 13.84.
