GAY NOW TOP 100/200 PERFORMER ALL-TIME
Tyson Gay is now the world’s fastest ever combination 100/200m sprinter, according to a Track & Field News compilation using IAAF Scoring Tables.
His best times of 9.84 and 19.68 this year give him 2552 points ahead of Frank Fredericks’ 2545 (9.86/19.68) and Asafa Powell’s 2544 (9.77/19.90).
The top three at 100/200/400 are Michael Johnson 3817 (10.09/19.32/43.18), Mike Marsh 3687 (9.93/19.73/45.08) and Xavier Carter 3679 (10.09/19.63/44.53).
The best 200/400 doublers are Johnson 2635, Carter 2497 and Danny Everett 2474 (20.08/43.81) with Jeremy Wariner a close fourth at 2470 (20.19/43.62). Altitude-aided and wind assisted marks were not considered.
