It’s my second year of speed training (i’m 23 years old), and I still noticed I haven’t no speed endurance.
in my new Spp I’m trying to do some 300 m run (52"), but I can do only 1 of this, and I feel like it was another and heavy sport(i have stomach pain, leg pain, my legs seems very “heavy”).
Besides I have this time
30: 4.15
60: 7.5
100: 12.6
150. 19
200 (not maximum but near): 29
I can handle a high volume of 60m. but in the “long run” i lost a lot of speed.
I did, and do, a lot of Tempo work, but it still seems to me another sport to do distance longer than 150 m.
I never follow a Long to short plane because:
I have not a normal track, but a track of 150m
I have a lot of difficoult to do 300 m with same kind of intensity (i try it when i go to spain where I have acces to a normal track).
the question is:
“what is my problem? why I can do 300 m run?”
I suggest you focus more on general prep and tempo over distances up to 200m. You will increase your work capacity and ultimately you will be able to tolerate more work for speed endurance.
what kind of work you will do?
I’m thinking to use the christmas period to put a lot of endurance (since 10 december to 10 feb) because in this period:
It’s cold and Is hard to train speed.
is far away from the period in which I can peak my velocity.
I eat a lot and want to do some endurance wo to burn calorie:D
yes i know.
I did 9weeks of GPP. in december Iwill do another 9 week with a lot of tempo over 200. acceleration wo with the aim of don’t lose speed. and lift and med ball…but i want an idea, because I followed yet the gpp of gpp video
