like i said earlier that kid is weak ass a kitten, there are fr girls who can bp 90lbs.
We’re talking someone just starting out. On any kind of descent plan, he will have better numbers very soon. Doesn’t necessarily mean he’s weaker than the average 14 year old, most of whom have never properly weight trained.
Well at my school majority of kids could bench over 95-115, in that range. I started at 145 so obviously higher than average. Very few including me can do 185 or higher. Likewise very few are doing below 95 for 1 rep, so we can see the average for a 14 year old.
My 11 year old son at 5’ 120-125lb this summer before entering 7th grade.
bench 95lbs,
deadlift 175lbs
squat 135lbs
This was after 6 months of training with lighter weights and high reps. He could have done more if we had focused on lower reps and heavier weights, but at his age, I only wanted him to work on good form with lighter weights and not stress the joints.
By the way, I met Bill Kazmaier, former World’s Strongest Man about 8 months ago and Kaz told me that he pressed 110lbs over head when he was 10 years old and weighed 110lbs. Pretty amazing, but I guess the World’s Strongest Man was probably the world’s strongest kid.
