Good 100 M sprint goals for the non-sprinter athlete?

Hi there,

I am adapting some CrossFit athletic Levels & Milestones (by CrossFit Seattle) for my CrossFit gym in Portland. I would like to add the 100 M sprint into the mix as an athletic milestone. There are four levels and levels have a mix of weightlifting, endurance, basic gymnastics, and other physical goals that need to be accomplished.

These levels are intended for the generalist athlete, who is not specializing in any particular area. To give you an idea of the range, Level 1 is basic general fitness (50 free body squats, 3 pull ups, 1/4 BW press, etc). Th Level 1 400 M time is 2:10 for men. The level 4 400 M time is 1:04 for men.

So, what is a comparable 100 M scale? I was thinking. 18.5 - 15.5 - 14 - 13 for men. 21.5-17.8-16.1-15 for women.

Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions.

Richard can answer you since he might be more experienced with slow ass runner than anyone on this forum

who set the 400m times?

I take it Level 1 is the best, if so they seem a bit high to me especially compared to those Male 100m times.

Looks to me like level 4 is the best. The numbers he proposes equalize a 64 sec 400 to a 13 sec 100. For general fitness, that may be about right.

DUH of course
