Eugene, Oregon, USA - The joint World 100m record holders, Justin Gatlin and Asafa Powell will each run in a separate 100m section final at the Prefontaine Classic on 28 May, which is a Grand Prix leg of the IAAF World Athletics Tour.

The races will be held consecutively during the track meet, and the results will be combined according to time to determine the overall winner.

“This should certainly pique the interest of track fans around the world, as they will get to see the two fastest men on the planet in consecutive races, under similar conditions,” said Meet Director Tom Jordan. “It should be very entertaining for our worldwide television audience.”
